A High Dose Human Study of GSK2982772 in Healthy Adults.

We have a clinical trial for healthy non-smoking male and female (who are not pregnant or breastfeeding) volunteers, aged between 18-65, starting in November 2017.

GSK2982772 is being developed for the for the treatment of inflammatory conditions, such as ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease), psoriasis (inflammatory skin condition) and rheumatoid arthritis (disease causing painful inflamed joints).
In this study, we plan to test single and repeated doses of GSK2982772 and placebo (a dummy drug containing no active ingredients) to see how the human body handles the medicine and whether it has any important side effects. The doses we plan to test were found to be safe when given to animals.

This study will be conducted in approximately 48 healthy volunteers in 2 parts (A and B). If you are a healthy male or female, you can only take part in either Part A or Part B only.

If you decide to participate and successfully pass a screening medical, you will be invited to stay at the clinical unit for the administration of study medicine or placebo. This study will test 3 different strengths of GSK2982772 as single and repeat doses, as follows:

Part A: 12 volunteers will receive a single dose of GSK2982772 or placebo, given as a capsule by mouth, either three times a day or two times a day. We will test 3 different doses at 3 different visits. The duration for this part of the study will be approximately 13 weeks.

Part B: 36 volunteers will receive repeated doses of GSK2982772 or placebo, given as capsule by mouth, either three times a day or two times a day for 14 days. The duration for this part of the study will be approximately 8 weeks.
If you are in Part B, we will also see how food affects how much medicine gets into the bloodstream and whether the medicine could affect the livers capacity to breakdown other drugs.

All visits will be at our GSK Clinical Unit in Cambridge. Please call 01223 296121 for more information.
